Corn Casserole: Creamy And Yummy
A corn casserole or corn pudding is a rich creamy savory and hearty dish that is very easy to prepare at home. It is also a favorite side dish among families. Some children do not like casseroles very much but they seem to like creamed corn casserole that is creamy and cheesy. If this is the case, you might want to use cream style corn instead of normal corn.
Indeed, corn is such a popular vegetable and ingredient that it is widely used in many recipes. It is so versatile that you can use it to make almost anything. If you like corn in anything, you will surely like baked corn casserole because it is very moist and rich in flavor.
If you want to make corn casserole ahead of time, just get all the preparations done ahead of time. In other words, add all the ingredients in a large bowl and stir them together then pour the mixture into a casserole pan. After that, simply keep it refrigerated until the day you want to serve it. Although you can also cook it using a crock pot, it is better to cook it in a normal electric oven because the crust you will get it so much better that way.
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 (16 ounces) can cream style corn
- 1 cup cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 2/3 cup cheese, shredded
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoon butter, melted
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, add in the onion, milk, eggs, cream style corn, celery, paprika, butter, salt and shredded cheese. Combine and mix well.
2. Pour everything into a greased casserole baking dish.
3. Bake at 350°F (177°C) for 55 minutes.
4. Serve.
